Good skids for overlanding. Transfer case skid took abuse but did its job.

These held up ok for me in Moab, UT. The transfer case skid did its job, though it now has a dent in it from smacking a rock that I need to investigate further. 3/16" steel would have likely taken the hit and not dented, but it's also quite a bit heavier. A quick check from underneath it looks like the dent is close to if not touching the transfer case.

The front skid has a small dent in the center, but no major deformation. I think the front skid could benefit from an additional support or brace between the front transfer case bash plates or some additional reinforcement in the front "chest" portion.

The pocket washer bolting method is OK, though I'm still worried if I caught one on a rock it would break or collapse. (I've sheared off bolt heads on my slider mounts before). I really prefer a skid plate design where the bolt heads are recessed, but I'm sure welding additional plates or brackets on the inside would add time and cost to manufacturing.

For the money I’m reasonably happy with these. I don’t consider myself a huge rock crawler, and the place where I got the transfer case dent was on moderately rated overland trail in the backcountry of Canyonlands national park. These wouldn’t hold up to more advanced rock crawling trails, but if you're overlanding on moderate trails or if when you get stuck your strategy to highly technical obstacles is to stop and survey for another line rather than try to "send it" to get through, they’re a reasonable cost/weight/durability trade off, and I'd definitely recommend them for that.

Note: I've uprated my review to 5 stars after hitting the transfer case skid hard on a rock. For the cost and weight, these skids do their job, just realize if you're planning to do the Rubicon or severe rock crawling trails aluminum isn't the right material

Hey Geoff, thank you for your feedback! We appreciate it.
Our skid-plates are fabricated to get maximum protection for minimum weight added while maintaining optimal coverage and clearance loss.
As Rock-Crawling needs are very different from Overlanding needs, of course, every user should consider his needs and priorities.
Our skids could be great for rock crawlers, but it depends on driving habits.
Another great benefit for the aluminum is that it bends as part of the protection so it doesn't transmit the shock to the chassis,
and in addition to that, it can be aligned back very easily so you can continue the usage.
We wish to thank you again for your feedback, and we'd like you to feedback us again after you'll test them out on the field ;)
