This review is for a 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X, 4-door JL. Overall, the installation wasn’t terrible, and I completed all of the work myself. I did run into a few challenges—below are my solutions.
The most challenging part of the entire installation is getting the bolt started on the driver’s-side bracket that mounts into the slit in the frame. There are a few instructional videos on YouTube that mention this and can give you an idea of what to do. The most important step is bending the wire so it follows the contour of the frame. I then held the wire with a set of Vice-Grips to align the bolt. I also used a slightly longer bolt to help get it started.

Some background first: I have a 2022 Chevy Silverado 3500HD, 4x4, double cab, long bed. I originally contacted ASFIR to see if they had skid plates for my truck. They have them for a standard bed but not a long bed and they couldn't tell me if they'd fit. They did send me drawings but it wasn't clear if they'd fit so I asked if they didn't fit, if I could return them. Nope. I asked for some type of discount to be the "test bed" but they weren't interested. During "Black Friday" the skid plates went on sale. I couldn't stack my military discount with that discount; ok, makes sense but I still didn't know if these would fit my truck, but still no way to return the items if they didn't fit. I decided to try any way and when I was checking out, there's an option (about $20) that allows you free returns, so I decided to try it, but no one at the company had told me about that option until I asked. Now, to my review. I won't confirm or deny if these fit the above vehicle or with or without any modifications (since I had to take a chance on this product on my own) BUT I will say this product looks to be very well built, arrived quickly. If you are going to purchase a product, the free return cost is worth it if you have to return anything as the skid plates are heavy duty. I don't know exactly how to rate this product so I'll just go in the middle for now.

I ordered a complete skid plate package, engine, transmission, transfer case, and fuel tank several years ago. The skids are good quality and price. It is fairly easy to install, something that is service above normal was it was delivered and I received an email to inform me they thought I didn't receive all necessary components. I had laid them out and counted the parts, and thought everything was present. I sent a reply back thinking all was good. I then got an email that it was short a few things and had been shipped to me. They definitely were correct and fixed it before I knew it wasn't all in my order. A stand-up company on customer service and support. I've had to deal with some companies that need to take lessons from ASFIR 4×4 USA service and support. I should have written my review years ago. What reminded me of this is removing the engine / transmission skid to service the transmission.
The photo is after multiple winters and exposure to road salts, and coastal areas too.

Fantastic product. Perfect fit. Super thick aluminum skid plate, very solid. It is listed for 1.4, but it does work for 2.4. The only thing it needs little modification. Just cut a longer hole for exhaust pipe, so it won't touch to each other. Overall, this product is 10 star !

During my initial purchase the manufacturer stated that they hadnג€™t seen any of the skid plates installed on 2012 Subaru Foresters with a manual transmission, to date they were only installed on automatics. No modification actions were necessary to the plate or front and rear brackets. I did have to upsize the holes for mounting the center brackets because the centers were half a hole off on both sides. I then used Fender washers in place of the original washers supplied and everything was a perfect fit afterwards. I love this product and recommend it to anyone looking to install a skid plate.
