The Subaru Forester XT Turbo Transmission Skid Plate is built from precision laser-cut 1/4" (6 mm) aluminum, delivering high strength with minimal added weight. Designed to fit only when combined with the ASFIR Front Skid Plate (595053), it provides reliable protection for the transmission while minimizing clearance loss. Recommended as part of ASFIR’s complete underbody protection kit for the Forester XT Turbo.

Is this Gearbox Skid Plate for the Subaru Forester XT mounted on the original OEM front skid plate?

Great question!
Unfortunately, the gear skid plate is the only one that can be mounted with Asfir's Front skid plate only.
We recommend you to take the full underbody protection kit for the XT:

Does this work with the automatic CVT? I have a 2.0 Turbo XT, 2018.

ASFIR makes a great product. I have installed their products on both my Gladiator and our Willys. The 2026 fitment was great, but an absolute pain in the butt to line up the nut in the frame. That took the most time. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for that design idea.

The installer could not find enough washers (grommets), maybe the packers made an error. I could use FOUR additional washers...these are meant to allow better sliding over rocks. PLEASE SEND.
