Sg Forester skid plate

Ordered online,price was good,quick postage,arrived un damaged,well packaged instructions were simple and clear with an ir code. Scan with phone camera takes you to a video showing how to install. I don't have a hoist so I used car ramps and layed underneath the car installed in about 30min. Very happy.

Hi do we know if this will fit an 04 forester xt that has the 2.5?

Peter. I have 05 XT Premium US spec 2.5 with stock oil pan and the plate is about an inch away from my oilpan drain bolt, lowest point. I love this plate and compared all the others I could find. Installation was easy and very solid. Car handles better because stiffens frame and subframe. Already hit debris in dark while raining and plate was undamaged. Been recommending it and ASFIR 4x4. Quality piece, and hardware fit and finish. John

We have tested it on 2.0L so far so we cannot guarantee that, but we see that John did managed to install on his 2.5L XT.

Should fit, fits on my 06 X subframe so should fit on a 04 XT.

This is what I've been hoping for! Thank you. Please tell me it fits the 05 XT 4EAT? Love that forces are not applied to engine or transmission case like other trans pan plates. Other brands have separate models for turbo and non turbo. Thank you

Wil this work on models with a manual transmission.

I have it on my 4EAT. The manual transmission should be fit, it's smaller. Only thing is I believe the drain plug location won't line up to where this plate has a cutout.

We cannot confirm a perfect fit without modifications or drillings as we tested it only on a vehicle with automatic transmission.

Does this plate have holes to access the oil filter and oil drain plug for changing oil?

Thanks for your question!
Our skids designed with access to the oil drain plugs, but not for oil filters, as the oil filter requires a bigger hole.
On the other hand, our skid plates are very easy to install/remove, and are very light-weight, so it shouldn't be hard to change oil if your filter is on the bottom side of the vehicle.

ASFIR makes a great product. I have installed their products on both my Gladiator and our Willys. The 2026 fitment was great, but an absolute pain in the butt to line up the nut in the frame. That took the most time. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for that design idea.

The installer could not find enough washers (grommets), maybe the packers made an error. I could use FOUR additional washers...these are meant to allow better sliding over rocks. PLEASE SEND.
