I have loved most of my ASFIR skids ie engine and tranny and gas tank skid but the T/C skid really does nothing but cover the stock skid, does not really provide any more protection to the transfer case.

The transfer case skid is designed to reinforce and add a layer of protection over the factory setup, especially against impacts and debris that could still get through or damage the OEM skid over time. That said, we understand it might not feel as substantial as some of the other skids in the system.

Added protection

Easy to install! Fits right over the existing plate and it’s lightweight. Great quality. I have a gladiator so it’s long and I’m prone to scrape the belly while flying down rocky trails or crawling. This adds protection to the already existing plate.

High quality and crazy fast shipping

Bought the engine,transmission and transfer case skid plates just before the first trip to Windrock in my new Gladiator and they proved their worth day one. Scratches here mean no scratches ( or worse ) on what they are there to protect, and I appreciate the weight savings over a similar steel product.

OK, mostly

Nice piece. Front mounting holes don't line up with frame crossmember. Required very difficult drilling of holes at the correct location. Also required nut inserts at rear mounting holes. Not included in parts and not indicated in meek instruction diagram.

ASFIR makes a great product. I have installed their products on both my Gladiator and our Willys. The 2026 fitment was great, but an absolute pain in the butt to line up the nut in the frame. That took the most time. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for that design idea.

The installer could not find enough washers (grommets), maybe the packers made an error. I could use FOUR additional washers...these are meant to allow better sliding over rocks. PLEASE SEND.
