The ASFIR Engine & Transmission Skid Plate for the Jeep Wrangler JL 4XE PHEV is built from premium laser-cut 1/4" (6 mm) aluminum, offering maximum strength with minimal added weight. Specifically designed to protect the engine and transmission of hybrid models, it ensures excellent underbody defense without compromising ground clearance. Engine skid plate

Very light, straight forward install. A little tricky getting to the top bolt on the front bracket on the driver's side, but overall 20 minute install in the driveway.

Light, stout, fast shipping

Great product. Vwrt well made and everything was cut to perfection. Everything fit perfectly. For the 4xe the mount on the driver’s side frame is tricky to get to. But that would be the case with most skids anyway.

This skid plate is designed and tested for Jeep Wrangler JL 4XE models from 2021–2023. It is not compatible with the 2025 4XE.

Fit my Outer Banks with flat tow base plates

Was able to fit the skid plate on my Outer Banks with flat tow hookups with a little reverse engineering. They gave me the ability to be able to return if it didn’t fit, which luckily it did!

ASFIR makes a great product. I have installed their products on both my Gladiator and our Willys. The 2026 fitment was great, but an absolute pain in the butt to line up the nut in the frame. That took the most time. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for that design idea.

The installer could not find enough washers (grommets), maybe the packers made an error. I could use FOUR additional washers...these are meant to allow better sliding over rocks. PLEASE SEND.
