The Jeep Wrangler JL EcoDiesel Transfer Case & Fuel Filter Skid Plate is built from high-quality, laser-cut 1/4" (6 mm) aluminum, offering maximum protection with minimal added weight.
Tested on 3.0L diesel engines, this skid plate is engineered to shield the transfer case and fuel filter from off-road hazards while maintaining ground clearance. Recommended as part of ASFIR’s full underbody protection kit for the Wrangler JL.

Fuel filter skid plate

So far so good. Took out the day after I installed it and bashed it on the rocks first trail out. It held up like. Champ with minimal damage.

Do you need to remove oem gaurd from fuel filter?

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking If the OEM skid plate needs to be removed to ADD the ASFIR? The answer is no. ASFIR makes a great product. I have installed their products on both my Gladiator and our Willys. The 2026 fitment was great, but an absolute pain in the butt to line up the nut in the frame. That took the most time. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for that design idea.

The installer could not find enough washers (grommets), maybe the packers made an error. I could use FOUR additional washers...these are meant to allow better sliding over rocks. PLEASE SEND.
