Great upgrade for my 500x!

I took a chance that this would work for my 2022 Fiat 500x trekking as the Compass frame is a model match. It fit perfectly and was a strait forward install. I take some ruff roads to where I camp and so a metal plate is a much appreciated upgrade. It will add time when I do oil change and wish that a door was provided to access the drain bolt and filter. Otherwise, I'm very happy with this upgrade for my 500x.

Great Skid Plate Option!

Easy installation - all considering, the plate was light weight. Used it on an easy trail and it did a fantastic job. Will need to enlarge oil service port to accommodate the Compass' 2.4L engine. Other than that, awesome product! Hope you could make some skid plates for the center drive shaft and rear differential for this vehicle.

Except the englarge of the drain hole, did it fit perfectly? Could you provide us some photos and details after you enlarge the drain plug? Why did you had to enlarge it at first place?

Strictly speaking would the bolts and mounting points for the compass skid plate also mount to the jeep Patriot (2014 4x4 Latitude) the jeep Patriot and compass are supposedly identical underneath being that they share the same PMK platform, engine options, and undercarriage components, making them mechanically identical underneath.

This skid plate was designed and tested for the Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass models listed in the fitment table. We have not tested it on the Jeep Patriot, so we cannot confirm fitment for that vehicle.

It may fit, but since it hasn’t been tested on that model, we’re unable to officially confirm compatibility.

On a renegade, does this use the same stupid "welded" nuts as the factory skid or do you guys use nut clips or something?

Thanks for the question.

The skid plate bolts on using the factory mounting points. The kit includes its own mounting hardware, including clip nuts where required, so it’s not dependent only on the factory welded nut setup used by the OEM skid.

Fit my Outer Banks with flat tow base plates

Was able to fit the skid plate on my Outer Banks with flat tow hookups with a little reverse engineering. They gave me the ability to be able to return if it didn’t fit, which luckily it did!

ASFIR makes a great product. I have installed their products on both my Gladiator and our Willys. The 2026 fitment was great, but an absolute pain in the butt to line up the nut in the frame. That took the most time. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for that design idea.

The installer could not find enough washers (grommets), maybe the packers made an error. I could use FOUR additional washers...these are meant to allow better sliding over rocks. PLEASE SEND.
