The Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 Transmission Skid Plate is designed as a completion of the original protection. Built from high-quality laser-cut 1/4" (6 mm) aluminum, it delivers maximum strength with minimum added weight. Specifically engineered to protect the transmission during off-road driving while maintaining minimal clearance loss. Recommended as part of Asfir's full underbody protection kit for the Grand Cherokee WK2.

Heavy duty Transmision skid plate

This heavy duty aluminum skid plate replaced the useless OME plastic piece. It bolted to the frame at the 4 corners and fit perfectly. I had to trim a 1 inch triangle off of the Diesel Parti ulate Filter mounting bracket to avoid contact. I used a Dremel with a metal cut off wheel for a quick trim. I am very happy with the product and ease of installation.

Does this fit a 2016 3.0 Ecodiesel atomatic transmission?
Does the install involve removing OME skid plates? Thanks, Jim

Fit my Outer Banks with flat tow base plates

Was able to fit the skid plate on my Outer Banks with flat tow hookups with a little reverse engineering. They gave me the ability to be able to return if it didn’t fit, which luckily it did!

ASFIR makes a great product. I have installed their products on both my Gladiator and our Willys. The 2026 fitment was great, but an absolute pain in the butt to line up the nut in the frame. That took the most time. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for that design idea.

The installer could not find enough washers (grommets), maybe the packers made an error. I could use FOUR additional washers...these are meant to allow better sliding over rocks. PLEASE SEND.
