Can this be used as a substitute for a rotted out stock gas tank hanger (non-skid plate version)? I'm in search of a gas tank hanger more than anything, but since that part is discontinued I'm wondering if this skid plate can also act as the sole gas tank hanger as well as providing skid tank protection. Thank you

For Jeep:
It is designed to be mounted over a non-skid plate but with hangers.
It is developed for protection and not has a hanger of the gas tank itself.

For Dodge:
Mounts over the original fuel tank protector

is this (jeep 2008 liberty fuel tank skid plate) designed to replace the factory skid plate and tank support? or does this bolt over the existing? i need to replace my stock skid plate as it rotted out.

The ASFIR skid plate bolts over the top of the stock gas tank hanger (non-skid plate version). My gas tank skid plate rotted out too, so I picked up a non-skid gas tank hanger from a KK at a junk yard, cleaned it up and repainted it, then installed ASFIR’s skid over the top of it. Hope this helps!

ASFIR makes a great product. I have installed their products on both my Gladiator and our Willys. The 2026 fitment was great, but an absolute pain in the butt to line up the nut in the frame. That took the most time. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for that design idea.

The installer could not find enough washers (grommets), maybe the packers made an error. I could use FOUR additional washers...these are meant to allow better sliding over rocks. PLEASE SEND.
