Excellent construction, fit and finish, performance, and value

Works very well. Installed on a JLU Rubicon, bolted right up in about an hour. Went on a 2000 mile road trip that saw Schnebly Hill and some trails in Moab and had a chance to test it out with a little kiss on a rock, didn’t even leave a mark.

My Jeep Has Some Real Protection Now

I had my ASFIR engine/transmission skid plate installed by a local shop with a lift about 2 months ago. While I don't go off roading, my Jeep looked very naked underneath. So I wanted some protection from day to day road debris and high grass and such. I have a 2023 Wrangler Willys with a manual transmission. And I found out in the install process of this aftermarket skid plate that the dealer removed the OEM transmission skid plate of my Jeep due to a recall remedy for the clutch overheating. So no wonder, my Jeep looked "naked" underneath! I had a shop install my ASFIR skid plate, because I wasn't able to snake those remote nuts in the frame and hold them in place while laying under the Jeep and holding a light and bracket at the same time. Other than that, and a few missing OEM parts due to the dealer, the install went off without a hitch. And I'm very glad that I had this skid plate installed to give my Jeep way more protection than I ever had before. And this aftermarket skid plate hasn't caused any vehicle codes or my clutch to overheat.

During my initial purchase the

During my initial purchase the manufacturer stated that they hadnג€™t seen any of the skid plates installed on 2012 Subaru Foresters with a manual transmission, to date they were only installed on automatics. No modification actions were necessary to the plate or front and rear brackets. I did have to upsize the holes for mounting the center brackets because the centers were half a hole off on both sides. I then used Fender washers in place of the original washers supplied and everything was a perfect fit afterwards. I love this product and recommend it to anyone looking to install a skid plate. Thanks ASFIR!
