Front skidplate for my Chevy Colorado Diesel

I purchased the ASFIR front/engine skid plate to replace the flimsy factory one made of plastic and a small metal cross piece in my 2016 Chevy Colorado Diesel. The plate is very high quality aluminum providing protection from the front just under the bumper extending back to just past the rear of the engine oil pan. Key for my needs the design fully accommodates my 4 cyl Diesel engine providing plenty of access to the oil drain plug. I ention this as most other companies skid plates for my vehicle provided access to the gas engine ONLY. Installation was straightforward with no need to specialty tools or visit to a mechanic. Great product!

During my initial purchase the

During my initial purchase the manufacturer stated that they hadnג€™t seen any of the skid plates installed on 2012 Subaru Foresters with a manual transmission, to date they were only installed on automatics. No modification actions were necessary to the plate or front and rear brackets. I did have to upsize the holes for mounting the center brackets because the centers were half a hole off on both sides. I then used Fender washers in place of the original washers supplied and everything was a perfect fit afterwards. I love this product and recommend it to anyone looking to install a skid plate. Thanks ASFIR!
